Assault and Battery ; Spring Term, 1876. Four months' imprisonment in Rowan jail. Pardoned June 2, 1876, on recommendation of T. B. Long, R. H. Broadfield, A. J. Mock, M. L. Holmes, Dr. M. Whitehead, Kerr Craige, C. F. Waggoner, W. H. Crawford and many others. 104. John Schenck, (col.,) Lincoln. Assault ; Fall Term, 1875. Two years' imprisonment. Pardoned June 7, 1876, at the instance of his father, on whom the assault was com-mitted, Maj. A. W. Burton, W. M. Reinhardt, B. F. Grigg, Y. A. McBee, Gen. J. F. Hoke and others. 105. Wm. Willis and .John D. Simpson, (whites,) Wilson. Larceny; Spring Term, 1870. Ten years' imprisonment. Pardoned June 15, 1876, on recommendation of Judge Sey-mour, C. C. Clark, F. C. Roberts, J. V. Sherrard, W. T. Fair-cloth, W. C. Bryan, A. G. Hubbard, Alex. Mitchell, R. F. Lehman, Wm. H. Oliver, and many citizens of Pamlico and Craven counties, where the young men lived.
