[Ses.sioB one tlionsand eight liundred and seventy, in said State, ofliis-own false, corrupt and wicked mind and ]nn'pose, proclaim and declare that the county oi" Alamance in said State^ wasininsnv-rection, and did, after the days and times last afo-yesaid, send bodies of armed, desperate and lawless men, organized and set on foot witho-nt anthority of law, into said eountv, and oecnpy the same by military force, and suspend civil authority, and the Constitution and laws ofthe State ; and did, after the days and times last aforesaid, and before the time of impeachment in this behalf, through and by means of such anned, desperate and law-less men, arrest many peaceable and law-abUling citizens of said county of Alaramx-e, tli'en and there about their lawful business ; and did detain, Irold, imprison, hang, be^t and otherwise mal-treat and injure numy <&f Ihem, to wit: Lueien IT.
