Mike Easley has reappointed Julia Baines Carpenter of Raleigh, Partha C. Daughtridge of Rocky Mount, Marianne S. Farris of Rocky Mount, R. Dean Hamric of Durham, Francine M. Pilloff of Chapel Hill and Karen Webb of Greenville to the North Carolina Art Society Inc. board of directors. Carpenter is the executive producer and host of North Carolina’s Global Connections, a show aired statewide on University of North Carolina Television. She is also the executive producer of Emergency Information, statewide audiotape initiative delivering information in Spanish, and the co-chairman, executive producer and writer of First Lady Mary Easley’s Immunization Initiative. Carpenter attended Arts Educational College in London, England and Ballaires Academy in Surrey, England. Daughtridge was a sales manager for Daughtridge Oil Company. She served as a board member for the Braswell Memorial Library and president of the Junior Guild of Rocky Mount. She has volunteered for First Presbyterian Church for the past 23 years. Daughtridge graduated from East Carolina University in 1975. Farris was a training officer for Peoples Bank and Trust Company. She is a board member with Meals on Wheels, an elder at First Presbyterian Church and volunteers with Tar River Choral and Orchestral Society Capital Campaign. Farris received her bachelor’s degree in music from Queen’s College. Hamric is a senior vice president at Central Carolina Bank. He is on the board of visitors at the North Carolina School of the Arts and on the board of directors for Caring House, Durham Technical Community College Foundation, Downtown Durham Inc. and Duke University Museum of Art. He is also on the Art Society board of directors for the N.C. Museum of Art. Hamric graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and the Graduate School of Banking of the South. Pilloff serves on the board for Verb Ballets and Forever Children’s Home. She is a past national president of the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass. She is also a circle leadership committee member for the Cleveland Museum of Art. She co-founded, with her husband, a theater summer arts summer camp in 1995. Pilloff received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and master’s degree from John Carroll University.
