n orth-c ar olina gazette vol xi j saturday octosfjt 1 1796 no 559 the paper which we rcctwid is entitled ntnnehes pollitiqucs one ofthe molt ref pectnble journals pubiilhed in paris cf ihe victory obtained by the french on the 18th ult atrenchen the general ref ult ol the action only is mentioned in the meffage from thr executive directory to the council of five hundred i hey state the lofs ofthe auftrians to have been 1200 prifoners and ten pieces of cannon and they make a quota tion from general morfeau's letter who says their lols is enormous with this vague account we muft reft satisfied till the ac counts by the hamburg mail reach us or the french themfelves chooi'e to publilh some more particular details of this atftion by a letter from gen jourdan of the 2d ii.it it appears 1 hat he has effected a junc tion with kleber ;
