FAMILY RECORD.
Benjamin W Gordon, and Maria
L Jones, were married Nov 9th 1837.

Joseph G. Granbery and
Isa B. Gordon, were married
November 12th 1862.

OBITUARY.
Died at St. Mary's school on Sunday, the 18th
inst Mary Louisa Gordon, daughter of the late Benj
W. Gordon, M.D. of Perquimans Co. N.C., aged
13 years and three months.
An affectionate and obedient daughter, a diligent
and exemplary pupil, a sincere and humble believer,
thoughtful considerate, and devout beyond her years,
she bore the severe pains of her sickness with touch-
ing patience and resignation, and met the approach
of the last great enemy with a serenity disturbed
only by her sympathy in the anguish of her mother,
who was present during all her illness. Short as her
life was it was long enough to accomplish the great
purpose for which life was given, preparation to 
meet our God. How forcibly and beautifully does
such a life illustrate the sentiment, "Wisdom is the
gray hair to man, and an unspotted life is old age."
