That came from England, Stoped awhile in pensylvania then came south with about a dozen families to North Carolina on Deep River (The Indians then resided here) in what is now Randolph County. They were Quakers. The first was Peter Craven who had six(?) sons: 1 - Peter - His sons, William, Joshua, Peter, Henry, & Joel. 2 - Thomas, " " Peter, John (the first preacher), Daniel, Jacob, Solomon, & Anderson. 3 - Joseph, his sons, Richard, Joseph, Daughters, Betsey & Sara the mother of Baxter the Founder of Trinity College, N. C. 4 - Daniel, His sons, Daniel, Robert, Thompson, Dawson (Primitive Baptist) 5 - John, his sons, John (a preacher & Magistrate) Samuel, Jacob (a preacher in the Primitive Baptist) 6 Henry (who held for England) His sons, Peter, Henry, Kindred & Jackson. In family of above, John Craven his sons were John Wesley and Eli Asbury, both being acknowledged ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Crist. This copied by Eli A. Craven on July 11th 1909 for John Arthur Craven son of Benjamin Franklin Craven and grandson of John Wesley.
