SPACH FAMILY RECORD. (1) Adam Spach, born Jan. 20, 1720 in Alsace, Germany, and moved to Maryland about 1750. He married Maria Elizabeth Huter at Frederickstown, Md. December 17, 1752. He later moved to Friedberg, N.C. where he died August 23, 1801. His wife was born in Wurtemberg, Germany, April 1st,1731, and died at Friedberg, N.C. October 28, 1799. Their children are the following: (2) John Adam Spach, born Oct.3, 1753, married Catharina Tesch (2) Maria Spach, born April 18,1756, married Johann Anton Kostner (2) Rosina Spach, born April 8,1758, married John Geo. Ebert (2) Maria Elizabeth Spach, born April 5,1760, married Gottlieb Strehle (2) Johannes Spach, born Nov. 11, 1762, married Katherine Long (2) Johann G. Spach, born Aug. 30, 1764, married Martha E. Hege (2) Anna J. Spach, born July 18, 1766, not married (2) Jacob Spach, born Apr. 1, 1768, married Sarah Tesch (2) Joseph Spach, born May 14, 1771, married Sarah Lang (2) John Adam Spach, married Catherina Tesch, Nov. 23, 1799 and died June 19, 1816. His wife was born Jan. 2, 1759, and died Sept 14, 1820. (3) Their daughter, Susanna Spach, was born Nov. 28, 1787, married Conrad Fischel Apr. 2, 1805 at Friedberg, N.C. Conrad Fishel was born August 26, 1777, and died Aug. 15, 1846. (4) Their daughter, Louisa Matilda Fischel was born February 24, 1815, married Jesse Miller July 18, 1833, and died April 16, 1882. Jesse Miller was born Sept. 25, 1810, and died April 16, 1882. (5) Their son, Constantine Valentine Miller, was born Mar. 19, 1834, married Barbara Ketz in 1858, and died in June 1866. Barbara Ketz was born Jan. 7, 1839, died Dec. 8, 1914. (6) Their daughter, Maria Louisa Miller, was born April 27, 1862, married William B. Cook, August 14, 1884, William B. Cook was born June 16, 1864, and he and wife are living in Winston-Salem, N.C. (7) Their daughter, Gertrude Cook, was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. and married Braxton Craven Page. They live in High Point, N.C. and have one daughter, (8) Norma Page, aged three years. When the Revolutionary War broke out, Adam Spach claimed the exemption accorded to Moravian Communicants, who were conscientiously opposed to military service, but his name appears several times in the Revolutionary Lists filed in the Historical Commission at Raleigh, N.C. showing that he furnished supplies to the Army, and assisted in other ways that he did not think wrong.
