THE $5.00 QUESTION:
"WHAT’S IN A NAME?”
A brand new, crisp five-dollar bill, latest
government issue, was found yesterday in the
Public Relations Office in the base headquarters
building. Claims will be probated at that of¬
fice beginning today, if filled out on the ‘What’s
in a Name' contest form on this page.
In order to facilitate return or the money,
the owner may obtain the bill merely by observ¬
ing the contest’s simple rules and filling out
the accompanying entry blank. The entries must
be in the hands of the editor of this newspaper
not later than 5 o’clock next Tuesday evening.
No strings aie attached to this offer. All
that ’Claimants* are required to do is to sug¬
gest a name for this new Morris Field weekly
newspaper.
To Candidate Schools
FOUR SELECTED FOR
AIR CORPS OCS
Seventeen enlisted men make upMorr is Field's
latest and largest quota of potential commission¬
ed officers ever chosen atone time to attend of¬
ficer candidate schools. They are grouped into
four branches of service - Air Force Administra¬
tive, Engineering, Quartermaster, and the Adju¬
tant General. . , . .

Scneauiea to leave next week for Air Force
Administrative School at Miami, Fla., are:Ser-
geant Thomas B. Meyer of Evansville, Ind. , and
Private First Class Lindsey C. Breeden, Jr. of
Bennettsville, S.C. , both members of the 30th
Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron and
administrative clerks in S-l of base headquar¬
ters; Private First Class Frederick D. Greehan
of Watertown, Mass., Clerk in the intelligence
section of the Fighter Group headquarters: and
Private Kenneth M. Mullis of Terre Haute, Ind.,
medical detachment. Mullis has been employed
as an X-ray machine operator at the hospital.
Sergeant Edgar S. Bowkley of Philadelphia,
Pa., and Private First Class Vernon Goode of
Charlotte are the two choices for the Engineer¬
ing School at Fort Belvoir, Va. Both are mem¬
bers of 30th Base Headquarters and Air Base
Squadron and have been with the engineering
Section of S-4 at base headquarters. They will
report August 5th.
A 23-year-old master Sergeant, Guy D. Barr¬
ett of Newsome, Tex., is the lone nominee from
the base chosen for the Adjutant General OCS
course, beginning August 1, at Ft. Washington,
Md. A sergeant major in the Fighter Group He¬
adquarters, Barrett was made master sergeant on
the same day he was notified to attend school
and in the same week passed the warrant offic¬
er’s examination.
First to leave Morris Field for the new
classes were ten men from the Quartermaster
Corps, who departed last week forCamp Lee, Va.
The group consisted of Eugene S. Berman of Riff-
alo, N. Y. , and Alfred J. BuBdis of Danville,
Ill., both members of the 640th Quartermaster
Co.; Murray M. Wal lace of Hodgenville , Ky., and
vton. D. MacPherson of Everett, Mass., 174th Co.
James F. Corrigan of Elmont, Long Island, N.Y.
and William C. Ellerman of Tarentum, Pa. 636th
Co.; and Thomas A. Davis of Louisville, Ky. ,
Paul M. Zahan of Huntington, Ind., Paul D. Mc-
Garr of Auburn-, N.Y. , and William C. Griffin of
Richmond, Ill., 903rd Co.
